Huiguo
Huiguo (746–805) was a disciple of Amoghavajra and an esoteric Buddhist teacher at Qinglong Monastery in Chang'an. He taught both the Vajra Realm and Womb Realm systems of initiation and ritual. In 805 he transmitted both systems to the visiting Japanese monk Kūkai. Kūkai's account of their meeting and his subsequent teaching in Japan made Huiguo a central figure in the Shingon lineage.
