Dharmapāla (Hufa)

Dharmapāla was a sixth-century Indian Yogācāra scholar whose interpretations became central to the tradition transmitted by Xuanzang. The Treatise Establishing Consciousness Only gives particular weight to his explanations among the Indian commentarial positions it assembles. Chinese translations also preserve his commentaries on works associated with Āryadeva, Vasubandhu and Dignāga.
