Putidamo (Bodhidharma)
Early Chinese sources associate Bodhidharma with meditation and teachings related to the Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra. Later Chan genealogies make him the first Chinese patriarch and the teacher of Huike. The treatise on the Two Entrances and Four Practices is attributed to him, although much of his biography belongs to later legend.
