Bhāvaviveka (Qingbian)
Bhāvaviveka was a sixth-century Indian Madhyamaka thinker who used formal inference to defend emptiness. His Lamp of Wisdom comments on Nāgārjuna's verses on the Middle Way and survives in Chinese and Tibetan translations. His Treatise on the Jewel in the Hand was translated into Chinese by Xuanzang and became a point of discussion among Yogācāra scholars.
