Baizhang Huaihai

Baizhang Huaihai taught in Jiangxi after studying with Mazu Daoyi. His disciples included Huangbo Xiyun and Weishan Lingyou, through whom later genealogies trace the Linji and Guiyang traditions. Later monastic rules invoke his authority, although a complete original code by him does not survive.
